“Mathaka Wastha Pooja” conducted to invoke blessings on war hero.
A “Mathaka Wastha Pooja” was arranged by Sri Lanka Navy at Dambakolapatuna Sangamiththa Viharaya in the evening on 12th February to invoke blessings on late Lieutenant PM Abeywickrama who paid supreme sacrifice during a sea confrontation with LTTE off Vettilaikerny on board P 496 on 06th June 2000.Ven Diyamailagaswewa Ariyakiththi Thissa Thero of Nagadeepa Temple conducted the sermon.Parents and close relatives of Late Lieutenant PM Abeywickrama, brother officers from his officer intake and around 150 other naval personnel attended this religious event.
